Drumshhh Product Review by Chubby McCarlson Official Product Page: Drumshhh.com

For those of you who haven’t heard of this product, Drumshhh is a muffler for the Rockband drum set. The concept of this product is to muffle the noise the stick makes when it hits that hard plastic surface. They are cleverly designed circles of a soft fabric with one side of them sticky so they don’t fall off the drum set.

Drumshhh is simple to use. All you have to do is stick them to your Rockband drumset and presto, drums are muted. Well, sort’ve muted. While Drumshh is a great concept, especially for me who lives in an apartment, it dosen’t “mute” them. It simples muffles them. I would say that Drumshhh made my drums about 50% quieter. While this difference is significant enough to positively affect the ears of people in the surrounding area, it dosen’t make the actual game play any better. You still have to hear that annoying slap of your drumstick mix into the drum sound of the game.
Mission accomplished I’d say. Drumshhh serves and purpose and serves it well, even though it would be nice if they made the drums a little bit quieter. The only problem is the price. I didn’t read or see anything about drumshhh prior to using them and I’d say I’d pay $5 for a set, $10 for the fancy ones. See the website for price listings. http://www.drumshhh.com/
All that being said, I give them an overall rating of 8. They are worth the buy if you need to make that kit a bit quieter for your sleeping parents or neighbors or roommates doing homework. Also, remember to recalibrate after you stick them on. Happy drumming gamers!
